The grandfather of this clan called Kawuuki came to
Buganda from Bunyoro with Prince Kimera as he came
to be crowned King of Buganda after his grandfather
Ccwa Nabakka disappeared on hearing that Kintu was
coming back to regain his throne from him. The clan
head is known as Magambo and the clan seat is in Kyango,
Mawokota.
Kawuuki came with his brothers in Buganda and after
Kimera was crowned, he gave Kawuuki and his people
a hill called Ggolola in Ggomba. He also gave him
two hills in Mawokota; Nsasa and Kyango. Kawuuki built
his seat on a hill-top in Nsasa.
His name later changed to Magambo because he was he
always carried information to the Kabaka usually from
god Mukasa in Ssese. In times when the king needed
the god, it was Magambo’s duty to pick him from
Ssese Islands to the palace and back to the Island.
Carrying god Mukasa to and from the king was the official
duty of the Kayozi Clansmen. They also were in charge
of the royal drums known as Kanabba.
